Ambassador: Kalle
Who is Kalle?
Hi! I'm Kalle, and I'm currently in my final year at the ArtEZ Conservatory as a singer-songwriter. I’m the frontwoman and bassist for the Dutch-language electronic pop band 'Pluk dan', and I play bass in the ska-punk band 'FOEK!'. I’ve been involved in anything and everything creative since I was a kid. While I’ve always made a lot of music, I also love experimenting with other media. I thrift basic clothing or fabrics for my bands and then modify them behind my sewing machine, I enjoy working in digital editing software, and I make photo books and collages out of everything. I’m not great at sitting still, so you’ll often find me with knitting or crochet in my hands. I love to read and enjoy expanding my bookshelf with authors like Reve and Hermans, as well as English fiction writers like Maggie O'Farrell, R. F. Kuang, and Sylvia Plath.
Last year, I did a minor with the marketing crew at the Booster festival, where I learned a lot about organizing cultural events and promoting them. This inspired me to further develop my career in the cultural scene. Since this year, I’ve been working as a creative coach at Studio15 in Enschede and Almelo. I love seeing how young people engage with art and being able to contribute to their creative development. In addition, I volunteer at the Vestzak and have a very sweet two-year-old I babysit, whom I love taking to all the local museums.
I’m really looking forward to the upcoming edition of Museum Night and hope to meet and get to know lots of great people!
